Job Summary
The Intern working in Volunteer & Guest Services will participate in employee and volunteer relations inside of the UMC hospital and campuses as well as within the communities UMC represents
Reports to: Director:
Job Specific Responsibilities
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:
• Assist with the development and management of UMC’s Volunteer and Internship program
• Assist in all areas of development and events to increase funds to enhance mission of UMC
• Assist Program Manager with on-boarding and training new volunteers
• Recruit and Retain interns through strategic outreach to Universities and Community Groups
• Assist Program Manager with on-boarding and training new volunteers
• Train volunteers, evaluate ongoing programs and measure volunteer engagement
• Partner with UMC departments to determine volunteer/intern placement and program needs
• Analyzing volunteer engagement for specific areas of the hospital through audits and surveys while providing feedback for improvements
• Serve as a liaison for the UMC Auxiliary
Education and Experience
• Actively enrolled in a credentialed college program as a sophomore or greater classman

Skills and Abilities
• Highly organized multi tasker with good problem solving skills
• Effective writing and editing skills
• Ability to speak in front of large audiences
• Knowledge of Program Management techniques, a plus
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people in a team setting
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
Daily interaction with patient, staff, and visitors required in this role
Physical Capabilities
Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs. Ability to read, write, listen, and verbally communicate
