The purpose of the job is to learn roles and responsibilities of a product developer.
You will learn under Abbott employee supervision:
Support development utilizing multiple techniques of various functions (R&D, QA, Engineering, Process Development, Production and Regulatory disciplines) for manufacturing products.
Manufacturing support and troubleshooting for formulation and process specific to the batch/product.
Investigates and develops new application procedures.
Combines inputs from above mentioned functions to develop Plant specific manufacturable product that complies with all the requirements.
Works on reformulation and local projects where starting manufacturing process and formula exists.
Develop reformulations and Production Process parameters
Give support to medium sized scale up/CIP/CAPA development projects
Give support to Ingredient, Packaging and Process qualifications and validation studies and issues recommendations.
Coordinate testing, prepare manufacturing instructions under supervision.
May co-author or author summary reports on findings and technical reports.
Analyze and interpret results and author recommendation reports with supervisory review as needed.
Education Requirements:
BS Food Science/Nutrition/Engineering or in related scientific field. MS in Food Science/Nutrition/Engineering or in related scientific field.
Mandatory to make an agreement with a university or school.
Skills/Competences:
The position requires knowledge of formulation and processing aspects pertaining to liquid and/or powdered nutritional products, as well as their nutritional, chemical, physical, and oxidative properties and stability. Beyond scientific skills, strong math, writing and verbal communication coordination and organizational skills are required.
