The purpose of the job is to learn roles and responsibilities of a product developer.

You will learn under Abbott employee supervision:

• Support development utilizing multiple techniques of various functions (R&D, QA, Engineering, Process Development, Production and Regulatory disciplines) for manufacturing products. 

• Manufacturing support and troubleshooting for formulation and process specific to the batch/product.

• Investigates and develops new application procedures.

• Combines inputs from above mentioned functions to develop Plant specific manufacturable product that complies with all the requirements.

• Works on reformulation and local projects where starting manufacturing process and formula exists.

• Develop reformulations and Production Process parameters 

• Give support to medium sized scale up/CIP/CAPA development projects

• Give support to Ingredient, Packaging and Process qualifications and validation studies and issues recommendations.

• Coordinate testing, prepare manufacturing instructions under supervision.

• May co-author or author summary reports on findings and technical reports.

• Analyze and interpret results and author recommendation reports with supervisory review as needed.

Education Requirements:

• BS Food Science/Nutrition/Engineering or in related scientific field.  MS in Food Science/Nutrition/Engineering or in related scientific field.

• Mandatory to make an agreement with a university or school.

Skills/Competences:

• The position requires knowledge of formulation and processing aspects pertaining to liquid and/or powdered nutritional products, as well as their nutritional, chemical, physical, and oxidative properties and stability.  Beyond scientific skills, strong math, writing and verbal communication coordination and organizational skills are required.
