We are currently seeking an intern to work as an ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Analyst in our Financial Reporting & Analytics area. Individuals should be following an academic track in environmental/sustainability studies, finance, accounting, or other business discipline. Individuals should also be able to demonstrate proficiency in data analysis and have a basic understanding of financial statements and corporate sustainability trends. This is a unique opportunity to work at a large financial institution. You will assist with projects that could include; ESG analysis, data organization, report generation, data creation and control, financial analysis, data research and analysis, etc.

Who are you we ask? We are a federally chartered corporation and one of 11 Federal Home Loan Banks (FHLBanks) that, with the Office of Finance, comprise the Federal Home Loan Bank System. The FHLBanks were chartered by Congress under the Federal Home Loan Bank Act of 1932 to improve the availability of funds to support home ownership. Each FHLBank is cooperatively owned by member financial institutions in its district and operated as a separate entity with its own management, employees, and board of directors. Our district consists of the states of Illinois and Wisconsin. We are regulated by the Federal Housing Finance Agency, an independent federal agency.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Applicants should be at least Sophomore status at an accredited four year institution
  • Should have a GPA of at least 3.0 and be in good academic standing
  • Desired fields of study include; Environmental/Sustainability Studies, Finance, Accounting or other Business discipline
  • Demonstrated interest in the current ESG environment and ESG trends is necessary
  • Familiarity with greenhouse gas emissions and other ESG-related reporting requirements is a plus
  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office software

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Help create meaningful ESG/Impact reporting and analysis that will be utilized by management to make decisions, gain insights, or communicate our impact to external stakeholders
  • Assist with mapping the control environment for ESG data and identify opportunities to expand the network
  • You will be part of the Financial Reporting team and will gain familiarity with SEC reporting by participating in financial reporting responsibilities as needed
  • Bring your perspective and creativity to various reporting, analysis, or special projects
