JOB SUMMARY
The Business Continuity Management (BCM) Lead supports the Head, Business Continuity Management with the development, implementation, and coordination of Business Continuity Planning for the Pfizer Research & Development (PRD) organization. This role is responsible for executing Pfizer's Business Continuity process in accordance with program guidelines, management of risks and business disruption events as well as utilizing continuous improvement to drive the resolution of issues. The position will work with all PRD functions, EH&S, Global Security, Global Information Security, Global Workplace Experience, and external partners to ensure business resiliency.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Awareness of all PRD functional line process and responsibilities in order to determine appropriate BC strategies globally.
- Lead the development and maintenance of Business Impact Analysis (BIAs) and Business Continuity (BC) plans.
- Support BC Leaders in identifying BC risks and developing risk management strategies to enhance resilience and prevent or minimize operational disruptions.
- Ensure all PRD staff globally, with business continuity responsibilities, are adequately trained to complete assigned responsibilities and are familiar with the relevant provisions of the Business Continuity Plans.
- Develop comprehensive training and exercise programs to support global risk, resilience, and compliance activities.
- Integrate Corporate BC Training requirements into PRD Training Model.
- Manage compliance of the PRD BC Training model across all business lines.
- Responsible for the creation of exercise scenarios and materials that are relevant to each business continuity team. Included but not limited to the following:
- Facilitate the annual tabletop exercise for each functional line/business continuity plan
- Ensure that exercise summary reports and follow-up actions are completed for all exercises.
- Facilitate communication exercises for BC Line Leaders and BC Sponsors.
- Responsible for the engagement of BC Leaders and PRD organization, including the Leadership Team, on a regular basis. Including but not limited to the following:
- Facilitate the planning, development of meeting materials and execution for regular BC line leader and sponsor meetings.
- Develop and implement Business Continuity Awareness campaigns for PRD
- Perform horizon scanning and analysis of trends for new and emerging global risks/hazards to determine potential threats to PRD.
- Facilitate response to business disruption events in coordination with Division, Site, and Line BCM Leads. This includes but is not limited to global event monitoring, communications, situational reports, continuity/recovery recommendations, and after-action reports.
- Provide 24/7 on-call support for any global events which may require activation of all or part of the Business Continuity Plans. In the event that activation is required, serve as liaison between Business Continuity Teams (internally and externally), Rapid Response Teams, Quality Event Teams, Crisis Management Teams, Global Workplace Experience, EH&S, Global Security, PRD Leadership Team, and Vendors.
- Facilitate the creation, maintenance, and testing of notification templates in the Pfizer Alert Service.
- Act as the lead and primary point of contact for audits and inspections
- Identification, development and implementation of appropriate and compliant metrics and key performance indicators
- Create and update policies, procedures, and guidelines related to regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Support PRD & Pfizer’s BC Community of Practice project initiatives
- Minimize third party risk via BC vendor reviews/assessments
- Facilitate the creation, implementation, and maintenance of BC tools, as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
Education
BA/BS in relevant healthcare, business, or technical discipline
Prior Experience/Attributes Preferred
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a leader in business continuity, business resilience, EH&S, Global Security, risk management operations or related disciplines, focusing on the design and execution of strategic business solutions.
- Prior experience in clinical research and pharmaceutical research & development operations preferred.
- Professional membership of EHS and / or resilience related organization(s) (e.g., DRI, BCI, IOSH) preferred
- Demonstrated understanding and experience in the establishment and implementation of business continuity, business resilience and/or risk management methodologies and principles preferred. Alternatively, strong understanding of program management disciplines.
- Ability to work flexibly to accommodate global time zones as well as the unpredictable nature of event response.
- Ability to act independently on self-initiated projects
- Strong verbal and written ability with the English language
- Experience with change management
- Experience with working with international/global organizations
- Experience in working with Sr. Leaders
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with multiple virtual teams simultaneously.
- Demonstrated strong project management skills.
- History of achievement in building strong customer relationships.
- Multi-cultural awareness and international experience highly desirable but not required.
- Demonstrated success in developing and delivering presentations; facilitating meetings; and strategically managing information repositories and other communication pathways.

Work Location Assignment: On premise/Onsite
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $149,200.00 to $248,600.00.* In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
