Summary
 

Develops and delivers sales, service, and product training to sales and service representatives in all sales channels and independent sales agents. Assists representatives in effectively acquiring and retaining business from small groups and individual customers.

Location: This role is onsite at 4101 Percival Road Columbia, SC 29229-8320 from 8:00AM-5:00PM.


Description
 

  • Develops/delivers product and sales training for all sales channels in the group and individual division. Trains new direct sales representatives, SC Blue retail store employees including manager, assistant manager, sales representatives and service representatives, telephone marketing representatives and agency sales and service representatives. Develops and delivers sales school for internal direct sales representatives and agency representatives. Develops and delivers training to external sales agents.

  • Analyzes curriculum and course content relative to training needs. Produces reports and training records.

  • Special projects as assigned.

To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need the Following:

  • Required Education: Bachelor's

  • Degree Equivalency: 4 years job related work experience or Associate's and 2 years job related work experience

  • Required Experience: 4 years of insurance sales, marketing or account management experience or 2 years sales training experience in insurance, financial services, or healthcare related industry or 4 years training experience including 2 years sales training experience in insurance, financial services, or healthcare related industry.

  • Required Software and tools: Microsoft Office. Ability to use audio visual and other training aids and equipment.

  • Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated skills/ability to achieve skills related to training material development and classroom presentations to large groups.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Strong organizational and human relations skills.

  • Basic business math proficiency. Good time management skills.

  • Demonstrated skill or ability to acquire one-on-one coaching skills.

  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.

Required Training: South Carolina Department of Insurance, Life and Health Agent's License, or ability to successfully complete the 40 hour pre-licensing course and pass agent licensing examination as required by state of South Carolina within 90 days of hire.

  • This candidate will need the ability to train as well as audit not only the telemarketing call center but travel out of town overnight for assessments and training within our retail centers. In addition to Life and Health licensure this individual must be able to pass all required courses and testing as required by CMS.
