Boeing Commercial Airplanes has exciting opportunities for Numerically Controlled Multiple Tool & Milling Machine Operators to join our teams across Puget Sound, WA.
We are seeking talented NC Machine Operators to join our team. As an NC Machine Operator, you will have the opportunity to set up, operate, and adjust various types of Numerically Controlled (NC) single and multiple tool milling machines. Your expertise will be crucial in fabricating close tolerance, high-quality parts from a variety of materials. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the production of precision components.
Position Responsibilities:
Review work orders, tie-in sheets, operator's or setup documents, blueprints, or CATIA plots to prepare for job setup or run previously set-up jobs.
Verify that the correct materials and tools/fixtures are issued and free from visible defects.
Identify the type of setup required and check the machine setup and/or parts completed by the previous operator to determine progress and ensure safe working conditions.
Select machine accessories and holding devices (e.g., chucks, vises, turntables, templates, probes) and ensure their good condition.
Attach machine accessories, tools, fixtures (e.g., coolant lines, air nozzles, suction devices), shop aids, and gears using appropriate tools and equipment.
Retrieve and download CNC programs to the machine controller using computing equipment and downloading from various servers/databases.
Select and check cutting tools per program or CNC documents, ensuring they are the correct type, length, diameter, radius, and in good condition.
Load and unload cutters following program information or setup documents using tool holders, spindle tapers, hand tools, or overhead cranes.
Set machine coordinates or index points per CNC documents, including cutter offset/compensations, tool heights, and probes, using controller keyboard, coax indicator, or digital readout.
Run CNC programs to machine rough and precision-cut parts following NC documents.
Adjust machine settings (e.g., speeds and feeds) to correct machining problems or prepare the machine for the next operation in the sequence.
Perform minor editing of CNC programs as required and remove sharp edges from parts using deburring tools or files.
Perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) functions as required and handle and dispose of hazardous materials in an approved manner.
Monitor the machine during operation for unusual vibration or sounds, check machine gauges and controller display or digital readout for warnings, and visually inspect cutter path, clearance, and chips for smooth operation.
Check work after each operation or completion of the job to ensure parts are complete per drawing and free from defects.
Maintain personal and tool certifications as required.
Employment in this position requires bending at the waist, standing, walking, carrying up to 35 pounds, crouching, finger manipulation, lifting up to 10 pounds, contact with metals, exposure to noise, atmospheric conditions, and the use of personal safety gear for face/eye, hand/arm, ears and feet.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a United States Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15? "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
1+ Years of experience using precision measuring tools.
1+ Years of experience as a machine operator, writing and editing CNC programs.
1+ Years of experience using a computer such as internet navigation, email, Microsoft Office and/or other specialized computer applications.
The ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience reading and interpreting assembly instructions or drawings.
1+ Years of experience operating 3, 4, or 5 axis NC/CNC machine tools.
Able to work with and around hazardous materials (while using the proper protective equipment).
Typical Education:
High school graduate or GED preferred.
