Northrop Grumman Defense System has an opening for a Manager General Manufacturing 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Advanced Weapons (AW) business unit. This leadership role is located in Northridge, CA.

The Manager General Manufacturing 2 will be responsible for directing activities of the Manufacturing organization. These activities are related to missile production. In this role, the selected candidate will also be the Program Manufacturing focal point for all production, which will include the following responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Manufacturing Managers, including Managers and production schedulers, supporting production requirements.
  • Program Manager responsibilities include: cost, schedule, and technical performance of a specific unit or work package on a large system development-type contract or broad responsibility for all aspects of program performance on a delivery order or small technical services-type contract.
  • Routinely meet with program management and engineering Leadership, to build strong relationships, and advise and discuss program strategies and execution plans.
  • Determine and develop staffing profiles and schedules to meet program requirements.
  • Lead various internal company and external customer audits to assure process compliance and requirements satisfaction.
  • Establish and harvest team values and culture with focus on employee engagement, diversity, a first-time quality.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in manufacturing engineering and/or manufacturing technology, OR a Master's Degree AND 7 years; of related professional/ military experience in manufacturing engineering and/or manufacturing technology OR a High School Diploma/GED AND 13 years of related professional/military experience in manufacturing engineering/or manufacturing technology.
  • Must have 5 years of prior management/leadership experience.
  • Must have knowledge and experience working with AS9100
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience with 5S
  • Must have the ability to obtain an active DoD Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of leadership/management experience
  • Program capture execution from EMD through FRP
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing strategies for change
  • Understanding of Agile principles and related tools
  • Experienced in dynamic environments where there may be schedule changes, design changes and validation failures
  • Proficient with MS office and Costpoint ERP system
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance

Salary Range: $114,100.00 - $171,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
