The Role

The National Clinical Manager will be a key member of the ANZ leadership team, responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, development, and implementation of clinical programs and initiatives across Australia and New Zealand. This individual will serve as a clinical expert, working collaboratively with internal teams, external stakeholders, and customers to ensure the effective delivery of education, training, and support for ZOLL’s advanced medical technologies.

This role requires a dynamic and experienced healthcare professional with a strong background in clinical leadership, education, and operational management. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to build and maintain relationships, and a passion for driving excellence in patient care through innovation and education.

Roles and Responsibilities

Strategic Clinical Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive clinical strategy to support ZOLL Medical’s objectives across Australia and New Zealand.

  • Serve as a clinical subject matter expert, offering strategic advice to the leadership team on trends, challenges, and opportunities in the healthcare industry.

  • Partner with the sales and marketing teams to align clinical activities with business goals, ensuring cohesive messaging and impactful outcomes.

  • Evaluate market needs and collaborate with product management teams to identify opportunities for new product introductions or enhancements to the existing portfolio.

  • Foster a culture of clinical excellence within the organisation, advocating for patient-centric practices and continuous innovation.

Clinical Education and Training:

  • Design, implement, and evaluate tailored clinical education programs for diverse customer groups, including hospitals, EMS providers, and community healthcare organisations.

  • Develop and maintain high-quality training materials such as e-learning modules, hands-on training protocols, and competency assessments.

  • Conduct on-site and virtual training sessions, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and optimal use of ZOLL products.

  • Regularly update training content to reflect the latest clinical guidelines, regulatory requirements, and product advancements.

  • Establish and manage a comprehensive certification program for healthcare professionals to ensure consistent standards of competency.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare organisations, professional associations, and other critical stakeholders.

  • Actively participate in healthcare industry conferences, symposia, and trade shows to represent ZOLL as a thought leader in medical technology.

  • Collaborate with external partners to organise and deliver joint clinical initiatives such as workshops, seminars, and research studies.

  • Gather and incorporate feedback from healthcare providers and patients to drive product improvements and enhance user satisfaction.

Customer Support:

  • Provide advanced clinical support during product demonstrations, installations, and post-sale activities.

  • Assist healthcare professionals with troubleshooting and resolving clinical challenges related to product use.

  • Develop a customer feedback loop to continuously improve clinical service delivery and product functionality.

  • Work closely with the technical services team to address any product-related concerns, ensuring seamless customer experiences.

  • Create and maintain documentation for all clinical support activities to ensure alignment with company and regulatory standards.

Team Development and Management:

  • Train, and lead a team of clinical educators and specialists, ensuring high levels of competency and professionalism.

  • Develop individual performance goals and career development plans for team members to foster growth and engagement.

  • Conduct regular team meetings to ensure alignment on clinical priorities, customer feedback, and organisational goals.

  • Implement performance metrics to monitor and enhance the effectiveness of the clinical team.

  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within the clinical team.

Regulatory and Compliance Oversight:

  • Ensure all clinical training programs and materials comply with local, regional, and international regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor updates to healthcare industry standards, policies, and legislation, integrating necessary changes into clinical practices.

  • Maintain documentation to demonstrate compliance with regulatory and internal audit requirements.

  • Participate in the development and review of clinical protocols and policies to ensure alignment with best practices and regulatory mandates.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:

  • Actively collaborate with sales teams to understand customer needs and tailor clinical support to drive product adoption.

  • Work with marketing teams to provide clinical insights for campaigns, product launches, and customer communications.

  • Partner with R&D and product development teams to contribute clinical expertise in the design and testing phases of new products.

  • Provide input and support for clinical studies, including site selection, protocol development, and data collection activities.

  • Coordinate with global teams to share best practices and ensure consistency in clinical messaging and training approaches.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain systems to track the effectiveness of clinical initiatives, including customer satisfaction, knowledge retention, and product adoption metrics.

  • Prepare and present detailed reports on clinical activities, outcomes, and recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Identify gaps in clinical support and propose solutions to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.

  • Monitor trends and competitor activities in the clinical space to ensure ZOLL remains a leader in innovation and education.

Program Development and Research Initiatives:

  • Lead the design and execution of clinical research projects to demonstrate the efficacy and value of ZOLL products.

  • Collaborate with academic and healthcare institutions to identify opportunities for joint research and innovation.

  • Oversee the publication of clinical studies, white papers, and case reports to support product positioning and credibility.

  • Develop and implement initiatives to improve clinical workflows and outcomes for ZOLL customers.

Advocacy for Patient Outcomes and Quality Improvement:

  • Promote best practices and evidence-based guidelines to improve patient care and outcomes in diverse healthcare settings.

  • Advocate for the integration of ZOLL technologies into clinical pathways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Lead initiatives to measure and report on the impact of ZOLL products on clinical outcomes, patient safety, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Act as a champion for patient-centred care, ensuring that all clinical programs prioritise the needs of healthcare providers and their patients.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered healthcare professional (e.g., RN, Paramedic, or other relevant clinical background) with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in clinical practice.

  • Strong background in clinical education, training, or operational management within the medical device, healthcare, or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing teams across multiple locations.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical workflows and challenges in hospital and pre-hospital environments.

  • Familiarity with medical devices, particularly in the areas of resuscitation, defibrillation, and cardiac care, is highly desirable.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.
