Job Description:

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Junior Mechanical Materials and special processes Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Pistoia - IT

Accountabilities

• Ability on the use of the materials and special processes requirement management with DOORS;
• Management of materials and special processes documentation and activities, with special reference to bonding, painting and corrosion protection.
• Collaborate with the sub-project groups (internal and external) and ensure the development of the assigned project part;
• Be the referent for internal and / or external resources involved in materials and special processes design project team and will be responsible for coordinating the whole team.
• Knowledge of bonding, painting and corrosion protection.

Required Skills/ Knowledge

• Experience to perform the aforementioned tasks as described in section above
• Master of Science or technical degree required in Mechanical or Materials ;
• Minimum 1 year working in railway vehicles projects in an engineering role as materials or special processes engineer.
• Availability for short domestic and overseas trips.

Desired Skills/ Knowledge

• Knowledge on DIN6701
• Knowledge on EU directive regarding the chemist substances (REACH, ROS, SCIP)
• Analytic approach
• Team-working attitude
• Flexibility
• Result orientation
• EAS (European adhesive specialist) is preferred

Education / Qualifications
Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Material Engineerig

Languages
Knowledge of written and spoken English at least B2 level
