The Opportunity: 

Join Hitachi Energy as a Mechanical Designer for our Capacitors and Filters product group in Mount Pleasant (Connelsville), PA. We are a leading provider of high-voltage components, specializing in innovative solutions for the electrical utilities and power delivery industry. As we expand our operations, we seek a talented and experienced mechanical designer to support our team in developing customized products that meet unique customer requirements. How You'll Make an Impact:

• Design MV and HV Capacitor banks per customer and industry standards using 2D and 3D CAD software.

• Demonstrate knowledge in advanced high-end CAD software Creo.

• Utilize Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools like Windchill.

• Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), Design for Assembly, and Manufacturing principles.

• Prepare manufacturing and assembly drawings using standard techniques and procedures.

• Coordinate effectively with Product owners, Supply Chain Suppliers, and Engineering teams globally.

• Ensure compliance with external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background:

• College diploma in mechanical engineering, design option, electrical engineering - automation and control, or AEC in computer-aided design.

• Drafting & Detailing (2D and 3D) experience is a must.

• Experience in handling projects in PLM/PDM systems is an asset.

• Mastery of AutoCAD and PTC Creo.

• Working knowledge of T&D industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, CSA, NEC, ASME, etc.).

• Knowledge of SolidWorks is an asset.

• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking); knowledge of French is an asset.

• Ability to use IT tools, particularly Microsoft Office Suite.

• Team spirit, creativity, and attention to detail.

• Knowledge of SAP is an asset.

• Experience in medium voltage electrical equipment and cubicles is an asset.
