The opportunity:
This role sits within our Wholesale Marketing Team, which develops the strategy and oversees the planning and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns globally.
What you’ll be doing:
Create and manage a content calendar by line of business and geography, thinking about how all our stories and collateral weave together to form a compelling narrative for Wholesale that aligns with Markel’s brand principles.
Work collaboratively to create and maintain tailored materials for various business development opportunities, including RFPs, product profiles, contact and appetite details.
Work closely with our colleagues across the brand, marketing and communications department to ensure close collaboration on the delivery of cross-team projects and clear communication regarding the marketing project pipeline.
Assist in the operational running of the team, including management of invoicing, compliance processes, standard internal and external communication such as event invitations, broker notifications etc.
Ensure the website and marketing portal are updated regularly to appropriately reflect Markel colleagues’ experience and expertise.
Create and control engagement and broker lists (by line of business, location and industry) to allow the business to take a tactical approach to marketing communications.
Manage the coordination of quarterly marketing reporting – metrics, key campaigns, events etc.
Contribute to integrated wholesale marketing plans, processes and calendars.
Be a point of contact for team assistants and office managers across Wholesale, to support them in their ability to manage small-scale marketing activity and to ensure that due process is followed.

Marketing experience gained in a dynamic team
Able to form solid working relationships with key stakeholders and maintain clear channels of communication
Demonstrate attention to detail and a methodical approach to project delivery
Be naturally curious, and ambitious to learn and develop their skills across the marketing spread
Have great organisation skills and be able to provide examples of how they have put them to use
Be a bold communicator, not afraid to provide guidance to the team when implementing better processes or tracking against plans
Be passionate about creating compelling and consistent content, and campaigns
Have the ability to think outside the box and the motivation to push for excellence
