Job Description:
The Director of Operations oversees the front of house operations relating to admissions, guest services, retail, F&B, and venue. The Director of Operations will work closely with the General Manager, Finance and HR in the development of budgets and resource plans and have responsibility for meeting those performance and operational targets. This position works with the General Manager and others in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and delivering an excellent guest and employee experience.
How you will do it…
Partnering with the General Manager and the Central Operations team, develop and ensure the consistent application of SOPs’s for all areas of responsibility. Maintains and updates SOPs as appropriate. Partners will include the General Manager and Central Operations team
Manage day-to-day operations for all areas of responsibility. This includes required critical guest services, financial performance (per capita spending), ensuring staffing levels are maintained with the appropriate mix of full-time, part-time, and temporary employees.
Develop strategies and implementation plans to improve and standardize all aspects of the guest experience while partnering with other Meow Wolf teams on best practices across all sites.
Develop and implements strategies for seasonal and local market overlays that drive repeat visitation and attendance growth
Coaches, mentors, and develops all operations department managers to ensure proper training, consistency and exceptional guest service to build a deep and diverse talent pool
Partner with HR to ensure all staff in respective areas receive initial and recurrent training.
Partner Work with the General Manager and Security & Safety Manager to develop emergency preparedness procedures for guests and employees.
Partner with Operations Development in development of the accessibility and inclusivity programs
To be successful in this role…
Must have 10+ years in theme park, museum, attraction experience with at least 5 of those years as Manager and/or Operations Director position.
Need to have a college degree in Operations Management, Hospitality Management, or other related Business Operations or equivalent relevant experience.
Excellent Microsoft Office and Google Suite knowledge
Ability to work evenings, holidays and weekends as required.

Work environment & physical demands…
Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
The employee will comply with company and OSHA standard workplace safety protocols.
Work Environment: Warehouse, music venue, exhibit space with uneven ground, flashing lights, and special effects , bar/cafe, gift shop and office environment.
Work Schedule: Variable depending on the business needs including some nights, weekends and holidays.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position does require supervisory responsibility.
Travel: Occasional travel is required.
