Accounting Fixed Asset Analyst
LOCATION: Guadalajara SSC
REPORTS TO: Associate Manager General Accounting
The Accounting Fixed Assets Analyst will be responsible for executing and ensuring timely and accurate processing and analysis of data related to fixed assets
Core Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements to ensure accurate expenditure data is available for the US/Canadian business as required.
- Prepare and provide financial information for internal/external audits, ensuring information is accurate and timely.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations in a timely manner to ensure internal control policies are being followed.
- Book journal entries as required and ensure that transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with applicable standards.
- Records monthly depreciation expense for all sites, summarize activity and perform trend analysis.
- Prepare CAPEX and PPE roll forward schedules
- Process fixed asset additions, dispositions, changes, and transfers in accordance with company policy.
- Calculate and record CWIP accrual for all site locations
- Perform account analysis, variance analysis and other projects as requested by Manager.
- Identify, initiate and develop system changes with information technology to improve the availability of financial information, minimizing disruption during implementation and creating efficiencies.
- Ensure Desk Top Procedures (DTP’s) are written and current for all job functions and that they comply with internal control policies.
- Conduct process reviews to identify improvements to enhance the quality of financial reporting. Lead the implementation of improvements identified through this process
- Interact with and support team members. Participate in group problem solving and team activities.
- Clearly identify internal customers and internal functions to ensure customer satisfaction both at SCC and business units specially with plants.
Qualified candidates will have:
- 0 to 4 years of significant experience in financial analysis, reporting, accounting or auditing within manufacturing entities in a multinational environment and public companies.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- Basic understanding of fixed asset accounting in accordance with GAAP
- Demonstrated ability to identify issues, develop solutions and make and support decisions to resolve problems and take advantage of opportunities.
- Proven proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite Software Programs (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc)
- Experience working with Power Steering and SAP a plus
