The Clinical Systems Engineer candidate will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the company’s Healthcare Services clinical systems. This includes support for all users that utilize these systems mainly focusing on fixed site operations that are located all over the country. Responsible for but not limited to training the company’s staff on applications, maintaining up to date hardware standards that pertain to the applications, and keeping software updated to meet organizational needs as well as installation of new software releases, system upgrades, patches and resolution of software related problems. Provide guidance to the department in the development of technical performance that enhances or complements utilization of systems such as RIS, or PACS. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a member of a team and work with variety of professional positions in the medical field. Candidate will work to deploy clinical application solutions available within the company to optimize radiology workflow processes to improve business relationships.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Serve as field based technical services subject matter expert in supporting
clinical systems and support personnel of fixed site or mobile locations.
Receive product training and transfer knowledge, workflow, and best
practices relating to clinical applications and take a proactive role in the
ongoing technical development of fixed site personnel.
Actively participate in the escalation process. Fully document and
aggressively pursue solutions to critical site issues in concert with software
vendors.
Develop and design site diagrams, procedures, test plans, and other required
project or service related documents for both local and regional use as best
practice.
Collaborates with other members of Informatics on coordination of
installation of computing and network hardware.
Design and implement workflow strategies, operation standards, policies, and
procedures for technologist, radiologists, and front desk clerks of existing and
transitioning AHCS joint ventures.
Build and deploy solutions within the clinical software applications for the
strategies and practices formed.
Perform end-to-end system testing, resolution, and optimization of PACS
systems and lead communicator of PACS issues to manager of IT services.
Other duties as assigned by management.
80% travel may be required.
Position Requirements:
Associate's Degree or Equivalent Experience.
5+ years of experience required. Candidates must have with experience in the healthcare industry clinical applications such as PACS and RIS systems.
Knowledge of clinical workflow and best practices in Oncology, Radiology or digital imaging.
Position requires familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within IT field.
Strong communications skills are required.
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience.
Strong internetworking (LAN) experience preferred.
