We are currently seeking a performance-driven, motivated Mechanical Commissioning Agent III. This role will be based out of Charlotte, NC.  

You will demonstrate your engineering skills and by leveraging the firm’s technology centric competitive edge you will work with design engineers, vendors, contractors, and client personnel to design, test, make operational, optimize, and validate Electrical systems in multiple 24x7 mission critical plants, pharmaceutical, healthcare, power generation or similar environments.

Job Responsibilities 

This position will involve developing and coordinating functional testing of multi-stack equipment and multi-redundant system configurations within a trade. You will review criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other documentation pertinent to commissioning. 

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and coordinate Commissioning Plans, consistent with ASHRAE Guideline O format.
  • Develop and coordinate functional testing of multi-stack equipment and multi-redundant system configurations within a trade.
  • Review design criteria, specifications, drawings, equipment submittals, and other documentation pertinent to commissioning and provide a peer review level of feedback.
  • The ability to lead commissioning efforts with multiple trades and client management involvement
  • Technical writing ability to create and Operating Procedures and Technical instruction material
  • Oversight of 1 - 2 engineers on projects reporting to them

Job Requirements 

To succeed in this role, your experience would include commissioning or designing of large Mechanical systems for industrial, data center, pharmaceutical processes, or laboratory clean rooms. Your technical strengths must be complemented by self-motivation, relationship building skills, and effective communication skills. 

Commissioning Engineer requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or required years of experience, including the commissioning of large distribution systems for industrial, data center, pharmaceutical processes, or laboratory type facilities. 
  • A minimum of 4 years of field experience in hands-on testing, validation, and troubleshooting of large Mechanical systems 
  • 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in the MEP field 
  • Possesses a basic understanding of proper system selection 
  • Exhibits a basic understanding of the practical application of LEED principles to building designs 
  • Exhibits a thorough understanding of applicable codes 
  • Experience with ASHRAE, BCxA, and/or PECI Cx and RETRO-Cx procedures and protocols, a plus 
  • EIT/FE required.
