Senior Specialist Contract/Sourcing


 

What you will be doing:

The Senior Specialist Sourcing Contracting helps support all operational functions.  This role is ensures all processes are built out.  This person, also, helps manage suppliers in RFP’s and provides some project management during the sourcing process.

The Senior Specialist Sourcing Contracting is responsible for sourcing and management for the portfolio of contracts within an assigned service line, which will include multiple contracts or relationships.  Specifically, Senior Specialists will be responsible for:

  • Supplier Relationship Management

  • Negotiations

  • Contract Operational and Financial Management (strategic suppliers)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides supplier management during the RFP process.

  • Provides project management to support Sourcing Managers in the sourcing process.

  • Works to develop and maintain all operational process guides for the Sourcing Specialists and F&C.

  • Run, analyze and maintain reports for various efforts

  • Manage supplier relationships, contracts and contract categories with small to mid-tier suppliers.

  • Resolve supplier related issues regarding contracting activities.

  • Remain point of contact for the Supplier to Premier and vice versa.

  • Conduct regular Business Line Reviews with key suppliers.

  • Develop supplier performance metrics and own supplier relationship management

  • Provide operational updates for key suppliers.

  • Work with counterparts at key supplier organizations to maximize the benefits realized from the ongoing relationship.

  •  Evaluate the positioning of contracts in the marketplace and work with the supplier to enhance Premier’s offerings.

  • Conducts negotiation meetings with suppliers, ensures standardization of processes and deliverables to Sourcing Committees, shares subject matter expertise, and develops and mentors department staff. 

  • Responsibility for managing the competitive sourcing process related to optimum contract pricing, terms, and conditions for assigned categories.

  • Solid understanding of contract management processes and systems.

  • Serve as the single point of contact for the contract and responding to questions from Premier’s field team and member hospitals

  • Review and analyze supplier sales data.

  • Assist in training new suppliers on Premier policies and procedures.

  • Support the management of the amendment process.  Able to create amendments with some guidance from manager, while ensuring contract modifications are in the best interest of Premier and its Members.

  • Accurately forecast administrative fees for contracts.

  • Ensure supplier compliance with sales reporting and fee payment

  • Monitor accounts receivable for portfolio.

  • Monitor contract usage to maximize Premier administrative fees

  • Routinely negotiate with suppliers to increase contract value via mitigation of price increases, price decreases, expansion of classes of trade, or other contract value. 

  • Support and provide input on initiatives to increase contract revenue

Physical Demands: Sedentary: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Premier’s compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $64,000 - $118,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
