Our technology and insight help empower them to make better decisions, while the powerful partnerships we build help to enhance the expertise that we offer. About the department:

In early 2024 abrdn announced a Transformation Programme, targeting an annualised cost reduction of at least £150m.  The Transformation Office is responsible for managing the delivery of this programme.

About the role:

The Finance Manager - Transformation Programme is a key member of the Transformation Office finance team, which is tasked with overseeing the realisation of these savings.  This team ensures that the cost reduction benefits are delivered sustainably, that the reported savings are backed by audit-quality evidence, and that the costs associated with programme delivery are accurately reported. The role of the Finance Manager - Transformation Programme involves collaborating with business and finance colleagues to independently verify the benefits and costs of the programme's initiatives.  This will include providing evidence of past spend and future saving at initiative level.  They will also liaise with the Group Planning team to confirm that the cost reductions are reflected in future function-level budgets.

Candidate requirements:

  • Tracking project costs and benefits, summarising project performance up to programme level, and a proven track record.

  • Working effectively with both finance and non-finance colleagues.

  • Be a Qualified Accountant, or qualified by experience.

  • facilitate the production of information, budgeting analysis, forecasting analysis, variance analysis, variance commentary, reporting and reviews, and presentation and project preparation.

  • Prepare profit and loss, and balance sheet accounts, group consolidations, general ledger journals, accruals, and prepayments
