The PhD Poultry Nutritionist co-develops, conducts and implements the innovation strategy of Nutreco’s Poultry project portfolio. New knowledge, processes and products are delivered by a team of experts, supervised by the Technical Director. The PhD Poultry Nutritionist safeguards that the knowledge and expertise of the research centre are of added value to the business of Nutreco. The PhD Poultry Nutritionist and his colleagues actively support marketing and sales of new products. A network is created with external experts for sourcing ideas and facilitating the R&D process and implementation. The PhD Poultry Nutritionist reports to the Technical Director. The PhD Poultyr Nutritionist works closely together with the portfolio managers of the Global Marketing Organization to jointly develop and execute the innovation portfolio.

Job Description:

Business support:

· Manages the support of the team in training, knowledge, and technology transfer role by the Global Marketing Organisation. 

· Manages the support of the team (key) account meetings and seminars organized by the Global Marketing Organisation. 

Nutrition and Formulation

• Translating research findings and practical experiences into the animal feed portfolio
• Monitoring feed formulations to meet quality performance and animal health standards
• Responsible for quality control, analysis and interpretation of trial data and preparations of final reports
• Developing new products based on your knowledge of consumer/customer needs and opportunities
• Coordinating and liaising with internal and external stakeholder

Presentation, communication:

· Represent Nutreco at science meetings. 

· Profiles Nutreco R&D and Nutreco’s innovative image.

Management

• Lead a team of technical experts and Product Managers to meet current and future business needs
• Manages and develops protocols, data and reports of all post-registration studies, as well as interactions with marketing to develop and leverage resulting data into sales
• Supports the development of training, marketing, and sales materials for products.
• Providing support and expertise in the area of nutrition to the marketing, technical consulting and sales employees Knowledge transfer and technical support to the sales team

Idea generation, networking:

· Manages and develops the network of his research group with R&D partners.   

Complies with the animal ethics guidelines and rules, Nutreco’s code of conduct.

· Assures appropriate resources of the projects and keeps track on the progress.

· Is responsible for the in- and external progress reporting. 

Qualifications:

·      PhD degree preferred with excellent track record in research management

·      Highly developed animal or human nutrition knowledge

·      Management skills

·      Presentation, communication skills.

·      Project management and portfolio management skills.

·      Fluent English & Spanish is requiered.
