Network Aviation is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Qantas Group, providing high capacity air charter and regular passenger transport services. We operate a fleet of jet aircraft from our base at Perth Airport and specialise in mining industry charters, regional airline services, routine and emergency freight and corporate charter flying. 
 
As the Manager Operational Performance, you will be reporting to the Head of Customer Delivery and Transformation and be responsible for championing and driving Network Aviation’s operational performance standards. This includes leading a systematic review of on time performance reporting, monitoring and improvement opportunities with business and operational leaders. You will be leading a small team and actively driving the analysis of all available On Time Performance (OTP) data. You will also be implementing a strategic approach to the collection and analysis of data to generate new insights to help drive performance improvement and operational efficiency. A key part of this role is building strong and collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders across multiple levels and functions in the business and operations. Key responsibilities include:  

  • Accountability for NAA’s operational performance oversight of the aircraft fleet, ensuring each meets Qantas Group network requirements. 

  • Recommending and establishing best practice operational performance targets and reporting frameworks across all key business areas. 

  • Undertaking a comprehensive review of NAA’s current and historical on-time performance results, using data and lagging indicators to identify key trends and opportunities for improvement. 

  • Working with business units/stakeholders to map processes and procedures to develop performance improvement initiatives and implementation plans. 

  • Influencing stakeholders to ensure a collaborative and coordinated approach to improvement initiatives is taken. 


You’ll have – 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Operations environment (aviation and/or performance improvement experience highly desirable) 

  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to work with complex data sets across multiple systems 

  • Able to effectively interpret data and present insights (including from incomplete data sets) to influence outcomes 

  • Experience in change management, and identifying, driving and, implementing operational improvements and efficiencies in partnership with other business units/stakeholders 

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work collaboratively with senior leaders and operational teams 

  • Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to work to a designated timeline 

  • Clear leadership experience and proven ability to develop and coach team members to leverage data to inform insights 

  • Good written and oral communication skills 

  • Forward thinking with the ability to understand the ‘big picture’ and distil trends and insights across business units and time horizons
