POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Server I  position is responsible for overseeing the dining experience of the guest from start to finish. The expectation of this role is to know the details of both food and beverage offerings, including preparation and execution of all items. Servers must anticipate all guest needs and offer suggestions to curate a memorable dining experience.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:  

  • Deliver food orders including any special needs or requests to the guest in-room, check completed kitchen orders with the order taker or guest’s original order; transport items to the guestroom in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality.   
  • Greet guests, describe selected items to the guest using interesting, and vivid descriptions of each item’s, origin, taste, and preparation methods; communicate options for removal of trays and dishware; respond to request for tray removal according to established time standards.
  • Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and offer suggestions, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests. 
  • Properly and accurately close guest checks securing room number and signature; properly settle voided checks or complimentary meals. 
  • Offer pre-determined menu selections to each table; maintain knowledge of each selection’s, origin, taste, and preparation method; communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the Management and/or kitchen; check completed kitchen orders with the guest’s original order; transport items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality.   

If assigned to the pool area: 

  • Prepare all chaise lounge chairs every morning with necessary towel setup and service
  • Ensure towel levels is consistent to inventory pars
  • Adhere to daily closing duties of the pool
  • Building rapport with the guest with above and beyond service
  • Ensure shading is appropriate for guests poolside 
  • Service and take orders from guests seated at or in the pool
  • Control cleanliness in the area
  • Assist in the overall operation of the outlet whenever needed
  • Inform the manager of all customer complaints and makes appropriate efforts to correct the problem
  • Always offer professional and engaging service.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors. 
  • Also will comply with any additional requests that may arise pertaining to Food and Beverage duties
  • Leadership – Maintain a positive, upbeat role, promote and exemplify Company values and represents departmental objectives and interests to internal and external customers
  • Customer Service – Follow up on complaints, questions, and concerns; respond to internal/external customer needs in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
  • Teamwork - Develop and promote teamwork and cooperation among co-workers
  • Safety – Comply with established safe work practices and attend to all safety-related training provided or made available by the Company.
  • Due to the intimate nature of the resort with limited number of guests on property, must assist teams laterally across all departments to lead a seamless guest flow throughout the different resort spaces.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience 

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent 
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an upscale restaurant operation; fine-dining experience preferred 

Required Licenses/Certifications 

  • Must be able to obtain any required food handing or alcohol serving certifications required by local or state agencies
