Responsibilities

The Hartford Investment Management Company (HIMCO) IT Organization is seeking a Business Analyst (BA) located at our headquarters in Hartford, CT.  In this role, you will work closely with Technology and Investment professionals to develop solutions and deliver key capabilities to the business. With an understanding of Asset Management fundamentals, Agile practices, and business analysis you will work on a wide variety of initiatives to develop solutions supporting multiple functional areas (Portfolio Management, Trading, Research, Reporting and Operational teams). This is an opportunity for an individual with a passion for understanding business problems and developing creative solutions on business-critical systems.  The role will be responsible for conducting stakeholder interviews, requirement workshops, participating in backlog refinement sessions, interacting with Product Owners, end users, and other stakeholders to illicit, document and test new requirements, test and validate existing requirements. The BA will also be required to perform analysis and research using tools such as SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, SAP Business Objects, Excel VBA and Markit EDM.

 

Qualifications

  • Exceptional analysis, problem identification and resolution skills.

  • Ability to structure and drive working sessions that promote collaboration, achieve synergy and achieve desired outcomes.

  • In-depth knowledge of investment products and services, securities processing, and information technology.

  • Knowledge/Experience in the following disciplines is preferred: SQL, SSIS (or similar ETL Technology), Business Objects (or similar reporting tool), data warehousing architecture, and data modeling.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to set and manage priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with business and technology colleagues at all organizational levels.

  • Experience in Agile methodology including developing estimates, prioritizing deliverables and experience with Agile planning tools like Rally, JIRA, etc.

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 6+ years of professional experience

This role will offer a hybrid work schedule with a mix of days working in the office and from home.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$78,640 - $117,960
