As the Global Commercial Data Product Innovation Manager, you will drive the development of innovative, data-driven solutions to optimise commercial functions like sales, marketing, and operations. Leading research in emerging technologies such as Generative AI and machine learning, you will develop and prototype scalable applications. You will also guide technical team members in best practices, utilise hands-on coding skills (e.g., Python, SQL), and promote data-driven decision-making across the organisation. Additionally, you will manage a small team, communicate insights to stakeholders, and contribute to thought leadership through research and industry engagement.

Key Responsibilities for This Role Include

  • Lead the innovation of data-driven solutions to address commercial challenges and optimize commercial functions, e.g., sales, marketing, customer experience, and commercial operations

  • Perform research in emerging data and analytics fields like MS Fabric, Gen AI and ML. Develop new concepts, evaluate their commercial impact, and quickly create innovative models and prototypes for scalable applications, products, and services

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in modern data and analytics technologies (e.g., machine learning, cloud computing), guiding the team in best practices and new methodologies

  • Use hands-on coding skills (e.g., Python, SQL, NoSQL, JavaScript, Reactive Native) to design, develop, and test data prototypes, working iteratively to validate ideas and demonstrate tangible results to stakeholders

  • Drive data literacy and champion data-driven decision-making within the commercial organization, building a culture of innovation and experimentation

  • Develop clear, concise communication to explain findings, innovations, and recommendations to the business stakeholders

  • Managing a team of 2 to 3 data & analytics innovation specialists

  • Stay up to date with the latest development in data and analytics by attending conferences and reading publications to conceive new ways and apply them to solve commercial problems, while leading thought leadership by publishing papers and speaking at conferences

The Qualifications for This Role Are

  • PhD or master’s degree in STEM (e.g., Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics)

  • 5-10 years of experience in data, analytics, data science, AI, and software development

  • People management experience is an advantage

  • Expertise in modern data technologies, including cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), big data, and real-time analytics tools

  • Proven track record of developing and productizing data and analytics solutions, with a strong understanding of the end-to-end ML / Software Development Life Cycle

  • Strong coding skills in Python, and other languages such as SQL, NoSQL, JavaScript, and Reactive Native and familiarity with tools for rapid prototyping

  • Experience with developing and deploying ML models using libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and containerisation tools like Docker, Kubernetes

  • Leadership ability to guide and mentor teams in data and analytics projects

  • Research and innovation skills, with the ability to prototype and adapt cutting-edge technologies from research publications

  • Proficiency in programming and database management for building AI models, with knowledge of best coding practices and version control (e.g., Git)

  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • High proficiency in English
