POSITION SUMMARY

This position listens to medical and financial leaders, utilizes curiosity and rigor while managing a team of analysts investigating underlying problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and healthcare costs data.  They develop team members and improve the team's ability to provide informative and directional analysis. This position challenges their team to be subject area experts in data driven discussions and utilize their knowledge of the medical industry to identify and quantify cause and effect relationships in the pursuit of better medical outcomes and with less expense. 

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Ensures their team provides accurate and timely management and regulatory reports. Builds team member's presentational skills to support executive leadership decisions and medical program support. Instills a deep knowledge of the assigned medical market within their team to enhance the team's financial proformas and program efficacy presentations. 

2. Oversees the Medical Economics processes and elevates the team's ability to report on the success of operating improvements and identifying medical and financial trends or irregularities. Uses their knowledge in advanced statistics, data wrangling and directional analysis to provide strategic direction to their team and their projects.

3. Manages their teams' execution of Medical Economics' processes and implement changes as needed.

4. Utilizes skills to enlighten their team with perspectives worth pursuing towards solving complex problems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires a Bachelors’ degree in Accounting, Math, Finance, Statistics, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.

Strong technical skills in software for data analysis; specifically, data extraction and manipulation (e.g. SAS, Teradata, R) and data visualization (e.g. Power BI, Tableau).
Experience in healthcare financial management with a proficiency level typically attained from at least three years of experience in the field. Proven advanced analytical and modeling skills are necessary.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
Proven self-starter who turns problems into assets.

Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
