Norton Rose Fulbright is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join the PR and Communications Group of our US Marketing and Business Development Department. This position will work with the US PR and communications colleagues as well as the firm’s marketing and business development professionals. This position will provide support on day-to-day communications activity, including media relations, internal communications, awards and rankings, social media, bios and digital marketing.

This employee can be based in Austin, Dallas or Houston, Texas. Norton Rose Fulbright’s nonlawyer personnel work primarily remotely, with employees coming to the office when requested by their supervisor.

This highly motivated, detail-oriented individual will support the PR and Communications Group’s director and managers by providing strategic thinking and tactical support of initiatives. These initiatives include:

  • Enhancing the public profile of the firm

  • Providing assistance to lawyers

  • Promoting collaboration across the global practice

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Helping develop and publish press releases, new hire announcements, award nominations, directory submissions, social media posts and other firm-related communications

  • Enhancing individual lawyer profiles and overseeing website biography production and updates

  • Producing and monitoring an editorial calendar for publicity opportunities

  • Compiling and updating media distribution lists

  • Managing the survey and rankings database and monitoring for new submission opportunities

  • Managing the byline article reprint ordering and distribution process

  • Tracking the firm’s news coverage with the compilation of daily news clippings

  • Processing the check invoices and handling other clerical tasks

Skills and Experience Required:

  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience in a professional services or business sector environment; ideally with some understanding of law firms

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Demonstrable and strong writing and editing experience

  • Understanding of the news process

  • Understands the need and has the ability to manage expectations

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Self-starter with excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills

  • Proven organizational skills with project management experience and multitasking abilities

  • Hands-on experience using all programs under the Microsoft Suite (including direct experience with PowerPoint and advanced functions within Excel)

  • An innovative problem-solver

  • Self-directed, highly motivated and results-driven

  • Experience working in a legal and/or professional services environment preferred

  • Some overtime is required
