About Corporate Planning & Analysis

The Finance Group at AB is looking for a Vice President of Financial Planning & Analysis. The position is part of the AB’s Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). The FP&A group is comprised of a team of approximately 25 professionals and plays an essential role in being a trusted business partner to the various businesses at AB.

This Vice President role will support AB’s Institutions Distribution Channel which is part of AB’s Client Group. The Client Group consists of AB’s Retail and Institutions Distribution Channels as well as the various service groups that support AB’s two largest businesses.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Head of Financial Planning and Analysis, this role is ideal for a financial analyst professional with an interest in analyzing data and making sound decisions, with a strong desire to manage details and deliver results. The successful candidate will be flexible with the ability to manage multiple projects in a demanding fast-paced environment. The individual will work closely with colleagues across Finance and the Client Group. Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Provide financial leadership and guidance to the Client Group SBU

  • Function as an advisor to the Client Group, supporting business decision making through financial information, forecasting, analysis, and insights

  • Analyze performance of existing products with a strategic lens and make recommendations on paths forward

  • Work closely with the Client Group’s COO and leadership team to help build-out strategic plans to drive greater performance in both revenue and margin

  • Manage the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis

  • Develop and maintain financial models to monitor/analyze key financial metrics; analyze impact of business decisions on financial results

  • Develop and manage the planning tools for the Client Group; provide/review the various drivers for the monthly forecast and the Annual Strategic Plan.

  • Serves as the liaison between the Client Group and the Finance organization, ensuring that all financial processes and procedures are efficient and effective

  • Manage the Client Group allocation process

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reporting packages for the Client Group

  • Produce ad-hoc financial analysis in support of the Client Group

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in a Financial Planning & Analysis, Finance or Accounting position, preferably in the Investments industry

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA Preferred

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong analytical, planning and project management skills

  • Strong financial modeling and analysis skills

  • Ability to think strategically and provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership

  • Strong technical skills: Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Experience with either IBM Cognos Analytics and IBM Planning Analytics, formerly IBM TM1 and/or Workday Adaptive Planning a plus
