The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas
  • Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users
  • Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement
  • Recommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality
  • Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes
  • Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
  • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
  • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications
  • Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
  • Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Maphub is a platform enabling various programs & projects to become metadata driven. Strategically, it is targeted as a global metadata management center allowing all components to change their behaviors dynamically according to their metadata configurations. Workflows are part of this platform enabling approval chain to be added on top of metadata management.

As the Project Lead, you are responsible for directing, guiding and coordinating the day-to-day operation of Maphub platform. You will interact with senior business clients and other stakeholders to determine project priority, timeline and budgets.  You will engage Citi Technology partners to secure resources needed and work collaborative to deliver state of the art solutions.

You will manage teams of different disciplines and be accountable for all their deliverables, including E2E development of innovative solutions, software quality control assurance, implementation and deployment.  You will oversee execution of all SDLC phases of strategic projects to support their program’s directives and you are responsible to senior technology management on the success of Maphub platform.

You will have the opportunity to play a critical role in a variety of complex and highly visible Maphub projects contributing to Citi’s commitment of metadata management. You will participate in discussions to analyze requirements, propose and implement solutions, and have exposure to acquire extensive knowledge in the area of finance, tax, legal, compliance and SEC/FRB reporting.  You will develop interpersonal and leadership skills by managing teams of software developers, quality control engineers, and by interacting with business clients from different functional areas of Citi at all levels.

Technical Skills

  • Has 8+ years of ‘hand-on’ software design and development experience with excellent knowledge of Angular, J2EE, WebSphere/Tomcat, Oracle.
  • Expertise in Oracle RDBMS, SQL, Stored Procedure.
  • Expertise in enterprise web application tools/components – JMS, JDBC, Javascript,  CSS, Eclipse, and VS Code.
  • Expertise of WebSphere and Tomcat, Web Services (SOAP and REST), and HTTPS protocol.
  • TIBCO EBX MDM tool experience a plus

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • BE or MCA Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
  • 8+ years or greater experience in software development
  • Candidate must demonstrate good coaching skills and the ability to multi-task, influence and work well with other technology and business partners.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior team members
  • Strong negotiation and influence skills
  • Ability to manage risk appropriately
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment

Domain Skills:

Experience with Banking applications and process would be advantageous
