Senior QA Engineer

Job Summary 

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will lead the testing and quality assurance efforts for complex projects, ensuring that all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive test strategies, execute test plans, and identify potential areas of improvement in the testing process. Your role will also involve mentoring junior QA engineers and driving continuous improvement in QA practices across the organization. 

Responsibilities and Duties 

  • Lead the development and execution of detailed test plans and test cases for various projects. 
  • Ensure thorough testing of software applications to identify defects, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement. 
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand requirements and design effective testing strategies. 
  • Manage the defect lifecycle, including reporting, tracking, and verifying fixes. 
  • Demonstrate customer focus and empathy.
  • Meet established service delivery guidelines such as customer satisfaction, phone-based activities, resolution, schedule adherence, case documentation and case wellness.
  • Responsible for efficiently managing the relationship with these customers and thoroughly documenting their cases.
  • Ability to deal with not only technically complex issues, but with politically charged situations requiring a high level of “soft skills”.
  • Maintain frequent communications with the customer with the status of reported problems, as well as maintenance of the ticket tracking system with current information.
  • Report software defects and customer suggestions to appropriate responsible groups.
  • Collaborate on cross-team and cross-product technical issues by working with resources from other groups as needed to resolve customer issues.  Collaborates with team leads, senior specialists, escalation resources and management when appropriate.

Qualifications and Skills 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. 
  • Extensive experience in software quality assurance and testing. 
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies. 
  • Proficiency in designing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Software and hardware knowledge of computing, networking, storage and peripheral devices.
  • Advanced proficiency with case management databases and tools. 
  • Knowledge on ADM like Performance Center/LoadRunner, ALM, Octane. 
  • Experience in migration.
  • Handle critical escalations and fine tune product performance, customizations
  • Reviewing design/architecture of products implementation and perform health check.
  • Knowledge on DB, scripting, AWS, Docker Kubernetes, AWS.
