Retail Design Specialist- Cabinetry - Wayfair Stores (Full-Time)

Location: Wilmette, IL

 

Brief Overview of Position

Wayfair is looking for a Cabinetry Designer  to join our team who is passionate and relentlessly focused on driving sales target metrics, building personalized connections, and creating an environment that invites and inspires our customers. This role will be responsible for helping customers create / envision a kitchen they love and recommend products that meet their individual budget, style and space. Since Cabinetry is such a technical category, customers rely on designer assistance in order to place orders, and so you will work closely with customers and other support teams to ensure a seamless end to end customer experience. 

 

Essential Functions  

  • Provide an authentic, friendly customer experience that exemplifies our Wayfair commitment to relentless customer focus. 
  • Guide customers through the custom cabinetry purchasing process: generating functional 3D renderings, requesting samples from manufacturers, placing orders for the customer, and upselling compatible products
  • Produce quality, detailed, accurate kitchen and bath & other room designs from customer sketches, planning guides and/or blueprints utilizing 20/20 Design Software
  • Manage virtual and in-store Cabinetry appointments (including preparation of design deliverables, product curation, and follow up).
  • Utilize sales analytics and design software tools and applications (2020 and SalesForce) to drive store profitability and growth in a way that supports the success of the overall brand (moodboards, space plans, 2d/3d room views). 
  • Build and manage your Cabinetry customer pipeline through in store appointments and lead prospecting on the floor and virtually.
  • Efficiently manage your time in design appointments and sales floor interactions by prioritizing the customer experience while keeping communication open with leadership. 
  • Meet or exceed sales and customer satisfaction targets, and other established KPIs. 
  • Participate in operational store activities as needed: bringing new products to the floor, floor sets, replenishment and substitutions. 
  • Engage in a high energy, focused and dynamic work environment where there can be rapid changes in products, promotions, offerings and operations. 
  • Drive sales in store by building personalized connections with customers through genuine questions and thoughtful conversations to best understand their needs.
  • Manage virtual, in-store, and in-home design appointments (including preparation of design deliverables, product curation, and follow up).

Experience Qualifications

  • Willingness to travel for in-home consultations. If driving your personal vehicle, proof of the state required auto liability insurance or proof of financial responsibility & a state issued driver’s license may be required.
  • 2+ years of sales experience (preferably in kitchen/interior design/high price point furniture), and proficiency in 20/20 Design Live. (Required) 
  • 1-3 years delivering strong sales results, building customer portfolios, and providing exceptional customer service. (Required) 
  • Experience in Cabinetry or architectural design with a clear understanding of design principles (spatial planning, fabric selection, styles and trends, etc). (Required) 
  • Experience leveraging CRMs/POS/ and design software such as AutoCAD, 20/20, SalesForce, Sketchup, Revit, etc. (Required) 
  • Demonstrated use of technology to drive business results, ability pivot and ramp up on new software programs quickly
  • Willingness to travel for in-home consultations. If driving your personal vehicle, proof of the state required auto liability insurance or proof of financial responsibility & a state issued driver’s license may be required.
