This position supports Leidos Health and Civil Division programs which provide essential support to service members and their families, enhancing readiness, resilience, and quality of life while promoting operational effectiveness and community well-being.

The Director of WFL manages the global Work and Family Life program delivery services including deployment and mobilization support, ombudsman triaging and support, relocation assistance, life skills education, transition assistance, family employment readiness, personal financial management, exceptional family member case management, and emergency preparedness/response case management services. Manages educational and support programs and services that directly support deployment and mission readiness by preparing service and family members to anticipate, understand and cope with the demands associated with the Navy lifestyle and operating tempo. Collaborates with command leadership in planning a mix of programs tailored to the needs of their command. Manages education and consultative services that support the mobile military lifestyle including career decision-making, personal financial management, job seeking, and adjustments of service and family members to life in the military and successful transitions from the military to civilian life. Consults and collaborates on policy interpretation and implementation for all WFL services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Leads, directs, and overseas program management and performance of services for all WFL services. 
  • Develops and manages workflows and performance of staff.
  • Uses technical tools and applications to identify trends, and issues and develop recommendations for process improvement.
  • Overseas quality and compliance for WFL, continually assessing for exceptional service delivery.
  • Ensures accurate documentation of services.
  • Communicates with Key stakeholders to ensure consistent service delivery and tailor program deliverables to leadership needs.
  • Manages the delivery of educational and support programs that enhance deployment readiness and support the unique demands of the Navy lifestyle. 
  • Establishes objectives, procedures and plans that meet both long- and short-range goals.
  • Implements and ensures compliance with policies, directives,  and guidance.
  • Develops and implements strategies to achieve organizational goals and facilitates improvement plans.
  • Assigns work based on priorities, difficulty and requirements of assignments, and staff capabilities; Conducts annual performance reviews of staff.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited program in a behavioral health field (e.g. Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or Psychology) from an accredited program and 5+ years demonstrated experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) managing behavioral health program of similar scope and complexity including counseling, advocacy, and prevention services within the military settings.
  • 5+ years program management experience on a program of similar scope and scale working with military members and their families including strong leadership and management skills to ensure quality in compliance with Navy regulations.
  • Knowledge of social services delivery systems and concepts, principles, and theories.
  • Knowledge of the military lifestyle and culture.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to manage and adapt program processes to meet the ever changing needs of the active duty military community.
  • Due to Government contract requirement, US Citizenship is required.
  • Speak fluent English.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
  • This position is a remote position and requires a quiet, private, confidential space to work from as well as having access to your own reliable high-speed internet hard wired to your home or apartment (coax or fiber from the Internet Service Provider (ISP) to your home. Using a hot spot from a mobile device (tethering) or wireless ISP is not acceptable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working directly with Commander, Naval Installation Command (CNIC).
  • Direct military affiliation or military spouse.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $78,000.00 - $141,000.00
