Position Overview

The Consultant Relations team (CRT) is a key component of the global Client & Product Solutions (CPS) group. The CRT is specifically focused on relationship management and business development with investment consultants.

The candidate will be based in Hong Kong supporting the APAC Head of Consultant Relations in all aspects of fund raising, strategy ratings, sales, and marketing of all of Apollo’s investment strategies. Over time, the expectation is that the successful candidate will take on some direct client coverage responsibility themselves.

Primary Responsibilities

  • The consultant relations associate will work closely with the APAC Head of Consultant Relations to develop and maintain strong relationships with research and field consultants of global and local consultant firms advising institutional & insurance clients.
  • The candidate is expected to take a proactive role in partnering with members of our regional capital formation teams which include Institutional Client Group, Global Wealth, Insurance, and Apollo Capital Solutions.
    • Communicate consultant views, themes, and priorities to internal sales (CPS) and investment teams.
    • Partner with the broader CPS team to commercialize new and existing strategy ratings.
  • Assist with marketing and fund raising for Apollo’s investment offerings (private credit, infrastructure, real estate, private equity). Help achieve and maintain strategy ratings across asset classes with all investment consultants.
    • Partner with relevant investment teams to complete any follow ups from meetings in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Monitor and coordinate responses to day-to-day consultant inquiries, DDQ’s, RFI’s, and RFP’s.
    • Monitor and coordinate completion of consultant databases with the latest strategy performance, fees, structures, etc.
  • Support all planning and coordination of research, investment, and operational due diligence meetings (confirming dates, times, venue, attendees, finalizing agenda and marketing material, updating all relevant data bases with strategy performance ahead of the meetings).
  • Attend research meetings/calls and take clear and organized notes, noting all follow ups and deadlines.
  • Attend consultant conferences to stay abreast of themes and topics consultants are recommending to clients.
  • Represent Apollo in industry groups and events.
  • In addition to above, any ad hoc requests which may arise from capital formation and/or origination activities

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3-5 years of prior experience in consultant relations, fund raising, or sales role at an alternative asset management firm or investment bank.
  • Knowledge of private markets ideal (private credit, infrastructure, real estate, and/or private equity).
  • Self-motivated and resourceful; able to multi-task and focus on delivering results.
  • Operates as a team player and excels at navigating a rigorous and fast-paced work environment – energetic, enthusiastic, and personable.
  • Excellent work ethic, detail oriented, and able to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communicator; personable, organized, and proactive with a positive attitude.
  • High quality written and verbal communication skills.
  • Mature interpersonal skills to support communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to travel when required to be on-site at events and / or troubleshoot remotely.

Specific Skills Required

  • Proficient with Salesforce and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Japanese language skills preferred but not a prerequisite.
