Job Summary and Scope of Responsibility:
 

The AI team at Chamberlain is looking for enthusiastic Machine Learning and Computer Vision interns to lead the design, development, and testing of advanced AI solutions supporting CGI’s strategic business priorities.

During the 12-week program, you will initiate, manage, and deliver a project to further the AI, ML, and/or computer vision strategies at Chamberlain.  Opportunities include projects that are research-oriented, as well as projects with very practical utility. Upon completion of the project, you will have the opportunity to present your results and findings to Chamberlain’s Executive Leadership Team.

Internships at Chamberlain are designed to give college students opportunities to complement their formal education with career-related experience. Interns will have an abundance of hands-on development opportunities and interactions in a real-world business environment. As a member of the AI team, you will work closely with senior data scientists, engineers, architects, and business partners.

Essential Functions:

  • Research algorithms and existing implementations of such algorithms, and evaluate the applicability to product requirements

  • Apply conventional computer vision and deep learning techniques to develop complex computer vision systems that run on the edge and in the cloud

  • Combine existing and new technology, both internal and with partners, to build computer vision systems

  • Participate in technical assessment, scoping and management of changes to the code base on new business requirements, product enhancements and other change requests

  • Analyze requirements, collaborate with architects and engineers to produce thoughtful software designs of large scope and high complexity

  • Work using Agile methodologies such as Scrum to develop middleware and computer vision solutions

  • Contribute to technical discussions in community of practice, design review, pull request, or other technical meeting forums

  • Collaborate with other Chamberlain domain experts, such as infrastructure, database, and front end, as the team develops features and platform enhancements

  • Effectively communicate results and findings to stakeholders and Chamberlain’s Executive Leadership Team upon internship completion

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or other quantitative field of study

  • Basic technical understanding of computer vision and machine learning technology, including deep neural networks.

  • Good understanding of math, including linear algebra, along with the ability to comprehend research papers covering topics such as computer vision, computer graphics, and artificial intelligence.

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, web communication standards like HTTP, TCP, UDP, and web sockets.

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, C/C++, Python, and Java

  • Experience with SQL databases, No-SQL databases, and messaging systems

  • Understanding of software development and design principles

  • Teamwork and collaboration

  • Strong communication skills, including presentations and documentation

  • Must be able to work from our Oakbrook, IL office (15 miles west of Chicago) 3 days a week
