What is the role?

In this role, you will be providing business intelligence, reporting, and management information solutions to business users. You will work closely with the Commercial, Financial, and IT teams to turn data into critical information and insights that support business decisions and strategic change projects.

You will also be responsible for providing reporting that is accurate, contextualised, and actionable whilst ensuring information is easily available to users.

What will you be doing?

You will be accountable for interpreting and understanding business needs and opportunities and leading the design, development and delivery of appropriate Power BI and reporting solutions. You will develop management information solutions and reports that provide business leaders with key business performance metrics and strategic insights, that lead to decisions and future change projects. Furthermore, you will proactively liaise with internal and external stakeholders to identify areas of the business that could benefit from analysis, driving future revenues and profits.

You will provide expertise in combining, cleansing and unifying disparate data sources into cohesive data models. As well as this, you will develop necessary measures, dashboards and visualisations to extract powerful and digestible reporting insights from complex data sets. You will be responsible for building compelling interactive Power BI dashboards and corporate reporting. This includes interpreting a wide variety of data visualisations such as bar charts, line charts, pie charts, scatterplots, heatmaps and others.

You will rollout Power BI solutions and ongoing training to business users. In addition, you will lead workstream planning processes including inception, technical design, development, testing and delivery of Power BI solutions. Moreover, you will drive the levels of automation and self-service for Commercial colleagues using selected technologies and over time, increase the levels of automation across the business.

You will need to be knowledgeable with the latest software updates, features and industry trends. Additionally, you should be familiar with programming or querying languages (such as SQL, Python including Pandas, R), ETL, database design and architecture including data warehousing.

Is this you?

Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, Finance or specialized training/certification, or equivalent work experience.
  • Significant previous Business Analysis or related technical experience
  • Solid experience with Data Visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik)
  • Solid experience working with advanced Power BI and DAX.
  • Experience with cloud computing models, Azure SQL and storage services.
  • Experience with SSAS tabular models, multidimensional cubes, SQL, data management, financial modelling and reporting.
  • Experience working with data to solve business problems/generating actionable insights.
  • Excellent mathematical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
