Job Summary

The Project Accountant is responsible for project set up, timely submittal of project billings, project reconciliations, project reviews, project analysis, and supporting assigned Principals in Charge in delivering profitable and successful projects. This requires a thorough understanding of Introba’s contract management, billing, and revenue recognition policies and practices; as well as an ability to learn and leverage information systems. We are looking for someone who is proactive and responsive.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project budgets, ensuring they align with the project scope and objectives. Regularly review and update budgets as necessary.
  • Perform monthly revenue analysis, including WIP, backlog, and revenue recognition testing, and help PIC’s, and PM’s understand the results
  • Manage project invoicing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to contractual terms. Coordinate with clients and internal teams for billing processes.
  • Ensure budgets and cost estimates for all relevant projects are appropriately forecast and uploaded into the system.
  • Drive a culture of cost reduction, margin maximisation, and effective working capital management.
  • Find ways of partnering with project PIC’s and PM’s that support them in the successful delivery of their projects
  • Reconciliation of subcontractor/supplier statements
  • Assist with other general accounting, project-related GL recs, and month-end duties as required.
  • Assist in the compilation of quarterly and annual audit binders
  • Ensure reporting requirements and other financial deadlines are adhered to, and regular, consistent, and timely reporting is administered as required.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related discipline
  • CA/CPA qualifications desirable
  • Minimum 3 years of project accounting/billing experience
  • Experience in engineering or other project-oriented firms preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills, Accuracy and attention to detail.
