Job Description
The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting financial operations, billing, forecasting, and management reporting activities to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial information. The role will support the Finance team by performing daily accounting tasks, assisting with month-end close, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare daily, weekly, monthly reporting to management.
· Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
· Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes and corporate surveys.
· Prepare daily shipment & milestone invoices, along with billing in various systems.
· Manage petty cash & P-Card transactions, along with monthly reconciliations for both.
· Manage bill and ship invoicing and inventory.
· Review CPRs, assign asset tags and support fixed asset inventory.
· Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and reports.
· Monitor and maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting discrepancies.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
· 1–2 years of accounting experience.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Experience with ERP systems (IFS preferred).
· Proficiency in Excel including advanced formulas and pivot tables.
· High attention to detail and comfort working with large datasets.
· Ability to work independently and with the team to meet deadlines.
· Knowledge of FAR/GAAP/SOX considerations.
Work Environment
This position is based in an office setting at Teledyne DGO’s Portsmouth, NH facility, with occasional interaction with production teams.
