Research Manager - Japan

Why We Have This Role

Our Strategy and Research (STaR) Software Services team is a newly established division dedicated to assisting our clients in setting up and utilizing a wide array of Qualtrics software products to tackle complex business challenges. A crucial part of our function lies in empowering customers to be proficient using the Qualtrics platform across a diverse range of research products (DesignXM, BX, UX). Our work is fundamental to the purchase and renewal of software, and seeing our customers become advocates of the software is a measure of our success.

We are currently in search of a Research Manager, skilled in design, analysis, and pre-sales support. The Research Manager will use their hands on market research expertise to lead research programs for customers that utilize Qualtrics software. As a new team supporting new product offerings, we are presented with the unique opportunity to shape the future of our division, influencing products, processes, deliverables, and more. This role also promises the chance to develop and establish an unparalleled expertise within Qualtrics.

How You’ll Find Success

  • Proven ability to successfully lead research programs (brand research, UX also desirable) for customers with global market reach
  • Ability to lead the design and execution of large scale research programs using Qualtrics software, flawlessly
  • Track record of delivering exceptional client experiences
  • Strong understanding of business commercials
  • Skill in P&L management, including identifying unique efficiency and optimization opportunities
  • Continuous improvement and growth mindset
  • Passion for mentoring and supporting junior team members
  • Ability to excite and encourage a team through transformation
  • This role will partner with our APAC Region and work the hours of approx 5pm-1am to allow for timezone coverage in that region
  • Successfully navigate the timezone and cultural needs of the APAC region

  • Ability to own strategic initiatives with executive exposure/ sponsorship that have tremendous departmental and organizational impact

Things You’ll Do

  • Engage in pre-sales meetings with customers, to help scope design and showcase your market research expertise
  • Design and execute brand surveys on Qualtrics platform
  • Collaborate with Technical Consultants who program the design, and Project Managers who oversee data collection
  • Conduct analysis using the Qualtrics platform. Deliver insights to customers via consultation time and/or reports focused on strategic storytelling
  • Ensure high quality throughout the tenure of programs
  • Support customer and partner enablement on Qualtrics software
  • Deliver the quarterly revenue and profit goals on your projects
  • Deliver the highest quality engagements, and ensure our customers are delighted

What We’re Looking For On Your

  • A minimum of 5 to 7 years in a market research role
  • Expertise with a wide array of research methodologies, especially brand research. UX research experience is also beneficial
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in business, mathematics, or the sciences.
  • Comfortable in a fast-pace, unstructured, and highly competitive environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively through both written and spoken forms
  • Bilingual: English written and verbal proficiency
