Job Summary
The Red Hat Central Europe Consulting team is looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager to join us in Munich or remotely in Germany. In this role, you will manage services projects in the region from end to end. You will be already be involved in pre-sales activities and are responsible for the whole project lifecycle. You'll coordinate cross-functional teams and establish appropriate metrics for measuring key project criteria, as well as determine, monitor, and review all project economics including costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, resources, and risk. While effectively managing a project, you will also be responsible for helping instill an organizational project management discipline and serve as an ambassador for the adoption of project management fundamentals, principles, and methodologies with Red Hat’s services.
What will you do
Guide project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting activities for Red Hat’s services projects with minimal direction
Handle project requirements, scope, and change management issues; ensure adherence to legally binding requirements
Facilitate the development of recommended project control solutions for planning, scheduling, and tracking projects through an integration of various project management tools
Work with the management on project proposals, bids, contracts, estimates, and schedules; contribute to the project estimation process
Plan, schedule, monitor, and report on activities related to the project, including subcontractor monitoring
Establish appropriate metrics for measuring key project criteria; develop project control and reporting procedures and manage changes in operational plans
Participate in status review meetings with project team members and customers
Ensure a timely submission of weekly timesheets and time cards
Integrate and use specific industry and technical delivery methodologies, like project management methodologies based on
Project Management Institute (PMI and PMP) methodologies, Red Hat’s services project management methodology, systems and software development, and product development
Assist in training the project team on the application of appropriate procedures and processes; coach and advise the team associates on how to accomplish project goals, meet established schedules, and resolve technical or operational issues
What will you bring
Highly motivated with solid experience in a project management role managing IT-based projects
Ability to facilitate client-facing workshops with external and internal participants (remote and onsite)
Record of successfully managing highly complex projects and multicultural or multidisciplinary teams
Solid background in cloud technologies, middleware, and open source
Experience establishing and contributing to process improvements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal, leadership, and analytical skills and business judgment
Ability to work effectively across a diverse management team and a broad spectrum of internal partners on your own
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high attention to detail
Good balance of business and technical experience
Ability to communicate the project management value proposition
Excellent communication skills in German and English
PMI and PMP certifications or the Master of Science in Project Management (MSPM) degree, or other certifications of an equivalent level are a plus
Intermediate or expert ITIL-foundation level and Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certifications are a plus
