In this role you will work as a member of the Global Payments Product team.  You will ensure that Western Union has best-in-class payments capabilities, which will enable our customers to both pay how they want as well as receive funds how they want. You will own and set the strategy for your product line and be accountable for execution upon that strategy. 
 
Role Responsibilities 

  • Define the product strategy and roadmap for a set of payments capabilities. 
  • Work with front end teams to launch new and enhance existing payments capabilities that will improve our end-to-end customer experience.
  • As a Product Manager, you will be reporting to the Senior Manager Payments Product Strategy & Management, and have responsibility/accountability for the product design, capability definition, prioritization, and delivery for the funds out.
  • You will manage a cross-functional team during various phases such as discovery, business development, delivery, and launch. You will support evaluating the competitive landscape to clearly define a best-in-class product, market research for expanding payment offerings and supporting continuous platform improvement utilizing usage trends and analytics.
  • Think strategically and creatively to gather product and process insights from customers and key internal / external stakeholders 
  • You will lead a cross-functional team of stakeholders across all critical functions such as legal, compliance, risk, engineering, settlement, treasury, customer service, and channels to define the end-to-end customer experience. Implement ongoing process improvements
  • Own and prioritize a roadmap to balance both exploring new product enhancements and existing product optimizations 
  • Manage products through the product development lifecycle ensuring that proper alignment and approvals are obtained from Legal, Compliance, Privacy and Infosec so that development timelines are not jeopardized.  
  • Lead in-house teams using agile scrum methodology drafting business requirements, prioritizing features, authoring user stories and acceptance criteria, and collaborating with scrum team members to ensure product features are delivered according to specifications.  
  • Provide ongoing analysis on product effectiveness using a data driven approach.  
  • Coordinate with our global operations and marketing teams to ensure successful execution. 

Role Requirements 

  

  • Proven track record of leading the development and implementation of successful product strategies with excellent cross-functional leadership skills and the ability to work effectively with teams in different locations.
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in business, engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.  
  • You will have 10 plus years of experience with at least 6+ years of payments-related experience in product, with a deep understanding of Cards, Bank transfer payment methods (ACHs, Real time etc.), and settlement. Get things done attitude; with self-motivated, with the ability to “roll-up sleeves” and prioritize critical deadlines. 
  • Attention to detail and a penchant for creating great customer experiences.  
  • Ability to break down complex experiences into simple documents, stories, and flows.  Experience in developing user flows and collaboration Diagrams.  
  • Experience with customer research and usability testing methodologies.  
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders/teams in different countries with different cultural backgrounds.  
  • You will have exposure to risk management and modeling in addition to strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to interact with many departments and levels of management
  • Previous experience of lean and agile working methodologies. 
  • Team player with ability to prioritize workload in line with tight deadlines and under pressure.
