Freese and Nichols is currently searching for a highly motivated, innovative, experienced Transportation Project Manager. The professional who fills this position will serve as a project manager on major county and municipal roadway projects and play a key role in business development within the region to assist with the growth of our transportation practice.  

  • Project Management: Client communication and reporting responsibilities, management of deadlines and project deliverables, project execution and quality management, agency coordination, scope and fee development along with project scheduling and tracking of activities.
  • Leadership and Mentoring: Serving as the technical lead in organizing, leading and delivering transportation projects. Mentoring younger staff in the development of plans, specifications, estimates and technical reports.
  • Business Development:  Helping the firm to maintain existing relations and establish new relationships. Leading pursuits for future project opportunities, participating in local professional organizations, attending state and national conferences, and other networking activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in roadway design with at least 5+ years of progressive project management experience
  • Texas Professional Engineering license (or the ability to become licensed in Texas within 6 months)
  • Strong technical skills in roadway and drainage design

Preferred

  • Strong public speaking skills
  • Proven success in securing new business and delivering municipal and/or county transportation projects
