Job Description:

Role Title: Registered Nurse (Year 2 - 8)
Role Type: Max term contract part time (30 hours per week until April 2027)

Department and location: Xavier 10 North, St Vincent's Hospital, Darlinghurst

Salary: $78,346.12 - $104,336.27 (pro-rata) + super

About the role:

  • Xavier 10 North forms part of the internationally renowned and innovative Heart Lung Clinical Stream at St Vincent's Hospital.

  • 30 bed ward consisting of 6 acute coronary care (1:2 ratio) and 24 cardiology beds (1:4 ratio).

  • Comprehensive services to optimise patient care including interventional cardiology; advanced heart failure management; cardiac transplant and mechanical circulatory support.

  • Opportunity to pursue a Postgraduate in Cardiothoracic & Heart Lung Transplant Nursing course or/and Postgraduate Interventional Cardiology course at St Vincent’s Hospital.


About you:

  • Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency.

  • Demonstrated experience working in cardiology and a high dependency coronary care unit highly regarded.

  • Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse.

  • Ability to work within the interdisciplinary team, demonstrating collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team using effective communication.

  • Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to priorities competing workloads within a complex environment.
