Schedule Details/Additional Information:

4–8-hour shifts per week including every other weekend and 2-3 holidays per year. Schedule hours are 0630-1430.

Pay Range:

$20.80 - $31.20

Major Responsibilities: Performs EKG’s 1)Ensure that accurate results from 12 lead computerized electrocardiograms are provided. 2)Ensure timely response to all STAT EKG’s code blues and red traumas. 3)Ensure quality application of 24 Hour Holter Monitors. 4)Ensures routine EKG’s are performed as requested by units. Maintenance of departmental logs, equipment, records, and exam rooms. 1)Ensure updated, accurate documentation and logs of EKGs and Holter monitors. 2)Answers phones and greets customers in a professional and courteous manner. Conveys messages accurately. 3)Files in a conscientious manner. 4)Ensures delivery of finalized reports. 5)Assists with process improvement efforts. Education/Experience Required: High School diploma or equivalent. 1 year ECG or hospital related experience or graduate or current enrollment in an allied health program or health certificate program. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Ability to identify cardiac arrhythmias. Ability to identify grossly abnormal EKG’s and MI’s. Registered or Certified status with NBCVT or obtain within one year employment. CPR certified within 90 days of employment.. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Must be able to work 7 days per week rotation schedule (including holiday shifts). (Travel, hazardous conditions, on call). Must be able to meet flexible staffing requirements. If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Addendum: Additional Information: High degree of Cardiac Arrhythmia knowledge and skills related to cardiac procedures. Ability to work independently and make decisions This position will need to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, i.e.: understand child growth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging; prior experience with various age groups is preferred.This job description indicates the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent.
