Job Summary

McKesson has an opening for a Business Systems Analyst.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Troubleshoot, build, and maintain the practice management system to support operations in the practice management system for the US Oncology Network.  Collaborate with software vendor (s) to meet our markets’ needs.

  • Identify areas for improvement and develop innovative solutions to business problems. Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business needs, and translate them into functional specifications.

  • Monitor routine system jobs and routines to ensure completion, intervening when necessary.

  • Work to build, test, and implement changes, including enhancements and break fixes. Evaluate the impact of all changes against the existing features, functionality, and connected systems.

  • Requires availability after normal business hours for application testing, emergency troubleshooting, scheduled maintenance, and the implementation of off-hours changes.

Minimum Requirements & Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent discipline or 4+ years of equivalent work experience required.

Critical Skills

  • 4+ years’ experience creating and executing test plans, test cases, and conducting system testing is required.

  • 4+ years’ experience with athenaIDX architecture, administration, and maintenance preferred.

  • 4+ years’ experience with customer requirement gathering, system design, change management preferred.

  • 3+ years’ experience with customer service or customer relationship management highly desirable.

  • Experience with ServiceNow ticketing application preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to clearly articulate ideas and information.

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in written and verbal communication.

  • Ability to effectively use communication tools and technologies (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Smartsheet).

Additional Skills & Key Traits

  • Collaboration and Teamwork:  break fix resolution and project execution will often involve multiple stakeholders, including business analysts, IT teams, our customers, and vendors.  This analyst must be able to work in a team environment, fostering collaboration, and coordination to ensure the successful implementation and ongoing support of athenaIDX as it grows and evolves.

  • Communication Skills: Effective communication is crucial for a business systems analyst. Requires thorough and timely documentation in support tickets, project tickets, and change requests. Requires clear and meaningful communication to customers, vendors, and colleagues. Requires effective follow up on communication where required by company mandated service level agreements.

  • Attention to Detail: System maintenance and administration requires precise data governance and adherence to standards. Monitor and act upon vendor and industry standards ensuring understanding, appropriate next steps, communicating to our market customers as appropriate, and in collaboration with our vendor and revenue cycle leaders.

  • Adaptability: The revenue cycle landscape is fluid with new standards, regulations, and improved technologies. The analyst must be adaptable and willing to learn and master new tools, protocols in collaboration with our practice management system vendor.

  • Overall, a successful business systems analyst combines their functional expertise and technical understanding, excellent problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and an understanding of our customers’ and vendors business processes.

Working Conditions

  • Remote work environment.

  • Able to travel domestically 5% of the time.

  • Must be authorized to work in the US unrestricted – This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$84,300 - $140,500
