As a Technical Project Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing various technical projects within our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while meeting quality standards and aligning with business goals. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers and stakeholders, to coordinate efforts and project success.

Responsibilities include

  • Manage projects in HP Project and Portfolio Management Center
  • Setup yearly budget and planning for overall actuarial team and all the major projects within
  • Initiate project intake process, create book of work, participate in project discussion, understand project requirements, and help clarify business needs to the technical team
  • Setup project roadmap following Agile as well as traditional Waterfall methodology
  • Act as a strong business analyst on life and annuities projects
  • Keep track of various requirements across all projects, raise concern on delayed requirements, and follow up with both the technical and business teams to deliver solutions on time
  • Work effectively with the infrastructure architects and DBA teams to ensure that all approved development and deployment procedures are followed

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management (for actuarial data and technologies is a plus)
  • Experience leading large projects and handling large program budgeting and planning
  • Strong architect and ETL developer with a good business analyst background to understand annuities, life, experience studies, and valuations business processes
  • Extensive understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and other implementation methods
  • Strong understanding of the SOX process and the readiness for SOX review with the project team
  • Extensive experience with database development tools (Oracle, Microsoft SQL, Toad), ETL, and integration technologies including Oracle ODI, Snowflake, and Talend
  • Experience developing large scale systems
  • Experience in Data Modeling, Data Warehousing, PL/SQL, ETL processing
  • Familiarity with standard development toolkits including source repositories (TFS), SQL interpreters (Toad), IDEs (.Net), etc.
  • Understanding of RDBMS
  • Basic understanding of the finance and insurance industry is a plus
  • Experience with Measure, LOMA, and ACORD is a plus
  • Experience with any ETL application such as DataStage is a plus
  • Aptitude for debugging problems in complex, unfamiliar code
  • Strong interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and quantitative skills
  • Solid work ethic, self-driven with the ability to work with minimal supervision
