Account Representative - Northern, VA Region

Job Description:

Account Representative – Northern Virginia Region

Location: This position will work in a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate must reside in Northern Virginia and live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health Pulse Point locations.

The Account Representative is responsible for supporting strategic sales and account associates in growing and retaining existing accounts and may also support the new sales team within the Large Group. The Account Representative will support the Northern Virginia Region. The typical group size is 100-499 enrolled subscribers (employees).

How you will make an impact:

  • Acts as a partner to build external relationships with existing clients, members, and brokers.
  • Works with sales and account associates to understand client needs and priorities. With general supervision, manages routine sales, claims, and benefits issues by researching, resolving, and responding to clients, members, and brokers.
  • Meet with clients to educate and drive opportunities for additional growth and product sales.
  • Communicates with internal partners to assist with upsells.
  • Coordinates with sales support on request for proposal (“RFP”) responses to brokers and groups. Maintains various system updates for proposal and sales activity as necessary.
  • Acts as a collaborative partner with internal stakeholders to meet and exceed client expectations. Supports internal and external client reporting, as needed.
  • Acts on behalf of strategic account associates to respond to client needs, as necessary.

Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 1 year of related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • A sales license is required to be obtained and appointed within 60 days of hire.

Preferred Experience, Skills, and Capabilities

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal partners to meet and exceed client expectations and assist with upsells preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and CRM tool preferred.
  • The ability to multi-task and manage time effectively is preferred.
  • Experience in supporting internal and external client reporting is preferred.
  • A proactive attitude with excellent problem-solving and analytical mindset is strongly preferred.
  • The ability to travel up to 20-30% is strongly preferred.
