The IT Project Senior Analyst- Capital Markets is a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead and manage complex technology projects from initiation to completion with a strong background in Capital Markets and Banking Risk. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual. The candidate should have robust background in managing and overseeing large scale multiple technology initiatives, exceptional leadership capabilities, and a proven ability to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires a highly analytical, organized and a strategic thinker who can navigate challenges, influence, and convince cross functional team members and manage expectations for a wide range of stakeholder including IT teams, business units, and drive project teams towards success in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the end-to-end lifecycle for a large multi-faceted projector multiple projects at the same time.

  • Engage & build relationships with stakeholders across key regional teams, specifically Liquidity Management, Business Treasury & Global Functions Technology

  • Define project scope, objectives, success criteria and benefits aligning with business goals and objectives.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive detailed project plans, identify resource requirements, critical milestones, dependencies, and risk.

  • Promotes good working relationships across a project, cultivating the people skills needed to develop trust and communication among all the project's stakeholders: its sponsors, those who will make use of the project's results, those who command the resources needed, and the project team members.

  • Manage requirements within various workstreams working on shared goals to a production state, including development, configuration, controls, reporting and while providing direction and guidance to the technical/ implementation teams.

  • Understand business impact and priority through evaluation of complex business and system processes. Ability to oversee remediation and improvements of multiple liquidity management driven workstreams, such as through controls and data quality analysis.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

  • Identify potential risks, regulatory challenges, and data quality issues impacting project success and implement appropriate risk mitigation strategies.

  • Build relationships with global technical teams to help build technical solutions that align with the group’s vision and the business expectations. Provide direction and technical leadership on complex projects in all phases of the development and implementation process, while aligning with the internal guidelines and best practices within the organization

  • Create, prioritize, and maintain a product backlog for the technology product. The project manager will work closely with product owners, development teams, and stakeholders to ensure that the product backlog is appropriately groomed, prioritized, and aligned with the business objectives.

  • Ensure all the project documents and artifacts are comprehensive and adheres to Citi project management standards.

  • Articulates problems, bring the right people together to solve problems and know when the problem has been properly addressed and closed.

  • Distil complex information and present in concise terms to inform decision making and to enable direction & issue resolution.

  • Communicates to all concerned parties on project milestones, status updates, as well as any existing or potential customer escalations

  • Owns project goals leveraging expertise to inspire a sense of shared purpose within the project team.

  • Applies a proactive approach in routinely tracking the project participant progress against project goals.

  • Defines, teaches, and enforces the use of good project management practices such as techniques in resolving complex, interdependent activities into tasks and sub-tasks that are documented, monitored, and controlled.

  • Possess the knowledge, skills, and experience to be able to recognize when problems surface or potential problems are looming.

  • Applies lessons learned from recent projects to future projects.

  • Proactively follows escalation and change control processes.

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years’ experience in an IT project leadership role with a background in data analysis and banking industry / financial services

  • Knowledge and understanding of Capital Markets, Liquidity Risk and regulatory impact including but not restricted - LCR, FR 2052a, RLAP, etc

  • Strong understanding of liquidity risk management and reporting, enabling the individual to understand complex and interconnected business requirements so to play a role in the ongoing management & coordination of execution plans.

  • Ability to develop project plans, manage individual deadlines and goals.

  • Knowledge of project metrics, including gathering, reporting, trend analysis, creation, and metrics.

  • Provides expertise in area and a strong level of understanding of the principles of IT project management and delivery. Understanding of the SDLC, familiarity with Agile, Scrum and Waterfall methodology

  • Aptitude to understand technology architectures and work with various partners for configuring strategically aligned solutions.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to manage stakeholder expectations.

  • Ability to identify issues and problems, generate solutions and choose appropriate alternatives using basic root cause analysis.

  • Manage project scope by assessing requirements changes, determining and conveying impact on budget, time and risk.

  • Manage client expectations, anticipates operational and tactical risks and tracks them; clarify, identify, and track requirements and issues, remove barriers, resolve minor project issues and escalate to immediate manager where required.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, MS Project, VISIO, Adobe Acrobat Professional.

  • Stays abreast of current industry trends and new technology through professional associations, trade journals, networking, and associated training and seminars.

  • A team player attitude. Practical experience in analysis, design and project managing end to end delivery.

  • Flexibility to work with a global team, across geographies and time zones.

  • Experience leading complex technology initiatives within Banks liaising with business stakeholders and cross functional teams as a project analyst/ and / or Scrum master.
