Job Description:

SCOPE: Under general supervision, performs daily charge audit of visits for accurate level and coding. Audit of physician, nurse practitioner and clinical oncology staff documentation in regards to correct coding of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCs, and modifiers and coding/charging based on the regulations and drug administration guidelines. Responsible for educating clinical and coding staff on documentation guidelines and correct coding; Acts as a coding and compliance resource to all Cancer Center clinical and business office staff members and coordinates

FUNCTIONS:

1.     Performs daily auditing of office/hospital visits of physician, nurse practitioner and verifies clinical oncology staff documentation in regards to correct coding of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCs, modifiers and coding accuracy.
2.    Responsible for educating clinical and coding staff on documentation guidelines and correct coding.

3.    Acts as a coding and compliance resource to all Cancer Center clinical and business office staff members and coordinates, develops and conducts related educational coding and compliance instruction and feedback training programs.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

CPC Certification through the AAPC required
CEMC Certification through the AAPC required
CHONC Certification through the AAPC highly preferred
3-5 years’ experience in medical billing & coding required 
Knowledge of Medical Oncology/Radiation regulations of coding and leveling highly preferred
