The Business Associate role is aligned to the Commodities business and involves a variety of day-to-day queries, investigations and ongoing projects across the full range of areas that impact the business. It is suitable for a driven, enthusiastic person with a collaborative and innovative mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Helping the business to deliver its strategic goals and new business initiatives
  • Staying abreast of external market developments and assessing impacts to our business.
  • Overseeing costs saving initiatives
  • Overseeing production sales & trading issues, stepping in when they are not being resolved and there is a risk to the business operations
  • Supporting the business to manage their headcount and team management

The role of a business manager is varied and therefore requires an ability to problem solve and leverage knowledge of operational processes to diagnose and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment. Business managers are often the hub of communication.  The candidate should demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. As a part of the wider Business Unit Manager team, this role will be party to cross-business projects and initiatives and have opportunities to work with other members of the team and other parts of the firm. This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed. Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and technology
  • Proficiency in management information
  • Commodities and/or Business Management experience is preferred
  • Previous experience in managing complex projects and processes
  • Proven ability to work in high-pressure environments
  • Experience in developing and maintaining effective work relationship
