Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently seeking a Process Controls Engineer 2/3 to support our Process Engineering team at our Bacchus, Utah Plant.

Position Summary: 

This position will be located at Bacchus working in the Process Engineering group with responsibilities in the Controls/Process Support. The job will support Plant Rocket Motor manufacturing processes.


Responsibilities include:

  • Field support for Manufacturing processes (process, tooling, equipment)

  • Design and specification review and updating

  • Operating procedure writing, review and updates

  • Preparation and present to OSCB/PPCB (Safety reviews)

  • Update and review of statistical process control charts (work any out of family attributes)

  • Prepare and submit Maintenance Work Orders

  • Develop and incorporate process improvements thru capital and tooling projects

  • Prepare for and present to Capital Appropriations Board (CAB) to obtain funding for capital improvements.

  • Trouble shoot production/tooling/facility issues and bring to resolution

  • Support various control systems on plant.  Support includes troubleshooting, re-programming, adding software enhancements, etc. in support of Operations.

  • Support programming of Rockwell PLC systems, and transitioning other equipment to modern control systems.

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science with 2 years experience or Masters degree

    • Position may be filled at higher level requiring B.S. degree with 5 years experience or 3 years with a Masters degree

  • Strong desire to work with control processes

  • RSlogix 5000 and Rockwell PLC experience.

  • A desire to support Field Manufacturing processes

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in explosive operating area

  • Procedure writing experience

  • Computer Process Control experience (PLC, Fox, Etc.)

Salary Range: $75,300.00 - $112,900.00Salary Range 2: $92,600.00 - $139,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
