What you will do:

  • Independently take responsibility for and support the timely and accurate reporting and analysis of Enbridge Gas Inc. Deferrals and Utility Results

  • Support Regulatory initiatives/proceedings (i.e., annual deferral disposition, rate applications, Energy Conservation applications, preparation of evidence for Ontario Energy Board, supporting schedules, etc.)

  • Independently support the gathering of regulatory evidence on compliance matters for proceedings as well as supporting the preparation of responses to interrogatories and undertakings

  • Own monthly/quarterly/annual reporting processes

  • Review regulatory decisions and resolves associated impacts; includes regulatory research and analysis as required

  • Collaborate with team members regarding implementation and execution of current, new and/or changing regulatory decisions/requirements

  • Engage groups both internal and external to the Finance department to provide a regulatory perspective.
     

Who you are:
 

Required:

  • University degree (Business or Accounting preferred), or a combination of education, training, and years of experience deemed equivalent.

  • 4+ years of proven experience in an accounting and/or regulatory environment, including experience in a month end close finance role.

  • Flexible approach and ability to shift quickly when needed.

  • Critical thinker who is willing to challenge how transactions are treated.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills combined with a results oriented business approach to a diverse audience.
     

Preferred:

  • A recognized accounting designation (CPA) or working towards a professional accounting designation (CPA)

  • Experience with Oracle, SAP, HFM, Smart View, PowerBI an asset

  • Familiarity with Utility regulators.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
