We are in search of a dynamic Senior Facility Design Engineer, someone with deep technical and analytical prowess, and a profound expertise in warehouse design or similar environments within manufacturing, production, or distribution sectors. This role is pivotal for innovating customer-centric solutions, integrating seamlessly with our product team to translate complex ideas into actionable, technical outlines.

You'll play a crucial role in conceptualizing and realizing project designs, serving as the technical spearhead from inception to design approval.

This role is located at our Seattle, WA location, or remotely within the US. You'll engage with both internal and external teams to craft and implement state-of-the-art facility designs, encompassing green-fields, brown-fields, and retrofits across industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teams to deliver innovative solutions for our customers’ fulfillment and distribution systems, from conceptual design to approval.
  • Lead multiple projects with a keen eye on quality and cost-effectiveness, ensuring designs meet or exceed expectations.
  • Oversee projects from start to finish, including the installation and commissioning phases, ensuring seamless execution and adherence to project concepts.
  • Develop facility requirements, capacity, and rate models to guide design decisions.
  • Manage engineering design projects across various stages and complexities, including integrated system designs and alignment with WMS, WES, WCS, and BMS systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Supply Chain, Design) with 6+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience in a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Design/Innovation Engineering, Manufacturing/Process/Industrial Engineering, or a similar role.
  • Comprehensive experience in the design cycle of warehouses, distribution, and fulfillment centers, including machine design and full factory design engineering.
  • Proficiency in CAD software for facility design and experience with business/technical software like MS Excel and MS Project.
  • At least 3 years of experience utilizing data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Quicksight, Power BI, Tableau).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead engineering design projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Highly motivated teammate with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willing to travel at least 40% time.
  • Must have and maintain US citizenship or permanent residency.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical expertise in full facility designs, capable of transforming ideas into technical artifacts for internal and partner use.
  • Understanding of digital twin concepts and the application of real-time data.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools and their application in engineering building designs.
  • Experience with aligning warehouse management, execution, and control systems within integrated machine designs.

Our salary ranges are determined by role and experience level. The range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
