The Opportunity
Are you a dedicated Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professional with a knack for operational excellence? Do you have incident investigation, root cause analysis, and project management experience? We are #hiring a Sr HSE Coordinator for our Calgary head office. If you have oil and gas HSE experience, we want to hear from you!
You will be responsible for providing HSE support to various Canadian Business Unit (CBU) stakeholders. You will fill an integral role within the team, with responsibility for HSE project management, various HSE initiatives, and software solutions to ensure top quartile HSE performance, regulatory compliance, and environmental stewardship. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team of passionate HSE professionals where you will utilize your knowledge and experience to provide support to multiple stakeholders; this position offers responsibility, accountability and the opportunity to have a significant impact on HSE within the company.
What you will do
Develop, implement, and maintain our Emergency Response Plans (ERPs) in accordance with provincial and federal regulatory requirements
Lead the annual ERP update and facilitate ERP training and emergency exercises
Streamline ERP processes and enhance digital strategies to support efficient exercises and ERP activations
Collaborate with the HSE team to develop and implement HSE programs, including supporting communication development, managing the review and updates of documentation, and optimizing document management systems etc.
Lead the delivery of HSE onboarding for CBU employees and provide ongoing training as necessary
Facilitate the implementation of the Serious Injury & Fatality (SIF) Prevention Program, including training on SIF precursors and other injury prevention initiatives
Lead event investigations ensuring thorough root cause analysis and corrective actions are effectively implemented and participate in historic event reviews to identify risk reducing opportunities
Track and analyze HSE data focusing on trend identification, precursor occurrence, and recommendations development
Collaborate on occupational health initiatives and maintain relevant software solutions
Support cross-functional HSE responsibilities, including incident management, contractor safety, and administrative duties
What you will bring
Eight years of HSE experience in the upstream oil and gas industry
Post secondary education in HSE or related discipline
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs, Visio, and Acrobat
Excellent attention to detail, with strong organization and communication skills
A team-oriented, collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal and partnership-building abilities
Occasional travel to field locations throughout the CBU will be required
